We leave Tomorrow!!!

Wow, the day has finally arrived! We leave for Ireland tomorrow after planning our dream trip eight months -Michele has panned the most amazing itinerary!

I will post of our travels - but have a few last minute questions. We may take the city bus from Dublin to Malahide town center where my husband will meet us with the rental car he is picking up from the Dublin airport and then we will drive to Beechwood B&B . There are 5 of us in a small car- just for one night and then children start leaving. So, he will probably make two short trips from the town center to the B&B.

Does anyone know how long the bus ride will be to Malahide and how much it will cost? Just curious. I know the taxi from the town center would be 10 and we would need two- hence the rental made sense.

We weren't going to rent a car for the two days we are in Malahide bit decided it would be best with all the taxis we would probably be getting for dinner etc?

Thanks,

Cindi

Haven't ridden that bus since 2002, but if memory serves, it took about 35 minutes.

Bus 42 runs from O'Connell Street (Stop 299) Eden Quay --  to Malahide Castle -- (Stop 3579) Auburn House.

Have a GREAT trip!

There are taxi vans that would accommodate all of you. But you should order one in advance. Your hotel can do that for you. DART also goes from Dublin to Malahide.

Cindi, It was a pleasure helping with your trip. Hope you and your family have the best time ever. Wishing for good weather for you all. And we would love to hear back if you have the time.

Thanks everyone - special thanks to you Michele. Our Dublin Hotel, the Morgan called yesterday. They overbooked and cannot honor the reservation I paid for in February. However, they are moving us to The Spencer - newly renovated with an extra half start rating (4 1/2), upgraded us and even have included breakfast. I hope we like it. .. it's a longer walk by 15 minutes to the center of the city center. .. oh well. . This is the point in the planning of our trip that we now focus on flexibility!.

Good for you being flexible and having a good attitude. Probably overbooked because of the big game in Dublin.

Bon voyage!
