This winter, Ireland or Harbin, China?

Is it better to spend winter holidays in Ireland or in Harbin, China for the Harbin Ice Festival? It's very hard for me to make a decision. Can anyone be kindly to give me some advice?

Ireland is pretty quiet over the holidays. Plus the weather can be gloomy and daylight hours short. What are you expecting to get out of such a trip?

I don't know anything about the Ice Festival in China.
