1 week to travel west coast

Hello all!

I am trying to plan a week in Ireland and am aiming to focus on the West Coast for the scenery.

As of right now, I believe I'd like to start/end in Shannon. I was thinking driving up to Galway, then making my way down the coast, down to Killarney and back to Shannon.

I would love some tips! What are some must sees of your opinions? Im interested in getting out and about in the hills as well.

Thanks so much!

Welcome to Michele's Forum!

We have LOTS of ideas . . .  biggrin   biggrin   biggrin

For Galway / Connemara: http://ireland.activeboard.com/t50055177/n59-galway-route/  Even though Google 'messed' with Tony's map, it is an EXCELLENT reference of possibilities.

For County Clare: http://ireland.activeboard.com/t50055177/n59-galway-route/

Another of Tony's maps lists a number of sites of interest:  https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?dg=feature&msa=0&mid=zeETIBvU4Igk.krVSjOoux3oU

Just 'Click' on the Letters (or 'Flags') for info links.

For Kerry, there's PLENTY of information:

Killarney Area:  http://www.killarneyonamap.ie/things/

Dingle:  http://www.dingle-peninsula.ie/

Beara:   http://www.bearatourism.com/

When?  What's your budget?  What, other than scenery, are your interests?  Night Life?  Castles and Monasteries?  Megalithic ruins?
