Traditional Music pub guide for Dublin - World Cup - Trips for 2016

Hello Everyone!

It's been a while since I've checked in on here but I came across this website today thanks to the Cobblestones pub on Facebook and thought it would worth posting here.  This page is just a quick rundown of the various traditional music pubs in Dublin and their schedules.

In other news I had not made it to Ireland in 2015 unfortunately but did have some other interesting trips to Iceland, Prague, and Germany.  But I miss Ireland so In 2016 I've got two trips to Ireland planned.  One to Dublin and the other to the west coast so I look forward to checking into this forum from time to time in 2016.  I hope everyone has had a great 2015.

Anyone else been following Ireland in the Rugby World Cup?  They've got a big match with Argentina this weekend in the quarterfinals.  Hopefully they can overcome the devastating injuries they had last week.

Mark

Mark, glad to have you checking in here again and that you enjoyed some interesting trips elsewhere this year. It sounds - like the rest of us - you have a longing for Ireland. We are always happy to help with your trips next year. I'm not much into sports but my husband is interested in the big game coming up.

Sadly Ireland lost to Argentina in the quarter finals. Losing their top 4 players to injury and suspension was too much to overcome apparently.

Argentina (Could actually lift the title) were just too good on the day. It's Scotland I feel for knocked out by a bad referees decision (one of a few in that match). Ireland can take pride, played 5 lost only 1.

Lowry's, our local in Clifden earned a Best Traditional Pub award this week. Quite remarkable with 6 of the 7 awards staying in Dublin and Lowry's shortlisted against the Brazen Head.

I really like Lowry's. Went for the first time back in April of last year for the Tuesday night session. What a great a pub! Phenomenal whiskey selection for those interested. Tuesday night session was also great. But the overall atmosphere of the place is one of the best in the country. Well deserved award.
