There are too many to choose from!  We have family in East Cork and Kerry, friends in Cork, Kildare and Kerry, deep ancestral ties to North and West Cork -- and VERY fond memories from Lough Derg, Galway. Mayo, Donegal and Fermanagh.  confuse  confuse

If I had to pick only ONE, though, it would be Millstreet, Co. Cork -- an excellent, semi-central 'Base' to visit the bulk of our family and friends.  It is also home to some fascinating historical sites, some of Ireland's friendliest people and scenery to die for!  biggrin

Many to choose from, but the places I've gone back to and want to go back to again include:

Cushendall, County Antrim (Northern Ireland)

Ardara, County Donegal

Inishowen, County Donegal

Achill island, County Mayo

Ring of Beara, County Cork

Kilkenny, County Kilkenny

Westport, County Mayo

In order of preference:

Westport, Co. Mayo

Connemara in general with Clifden as a base.

Achill Island, Co. Mayo

Ballyvaughn, Co. Clare

Kinvara, Co. Galway

Kinnitty, Co. Offaly

Dublin

Galway City

Feakle, Co. Clare

Glencolmcille, Donegal

I could keep going on and on but this is top 10 for me in order.

Such a difficult question. I like many, many different places in Ireland. But if I had to live in one spot I think I would choose Kenmare.

South-West region of Ireland is my pick. I choose Cork City, Kenmare and Dingle Penninsula as my favourite places.

It makes no difference where you go, everywhere has scenery.

The secret to Ireland lies in its people. Interact, sit and talk to the welcoming locals and you will be made to feel at home.

Here, here! Stunning landscape aside, it is the people that made those places special. In particular, Ardara, Cushendall, and Kenmare (which I forgot on my first list!)
