Phones and international calls

I bought one of those unlocked phones and wondered if someone could tell me what to do from there? Also, list of important phone numbers I should have? I know probably my banks and cc #'s. Probably places im staying at, airports/airlines, car rental. Anything I'm missing?

And some of the b&bs or other places to stay are asking for my ph. number. Not sure how much my company will charge for that. Will call monday. But any suggestions for that? And when they give their number, do I just call the number they give me? Or do i need to dial something else. Or do i need to ask my phone company for that as well.

Emergency number in Ireland is 999 or 112.

Many of your questions depend on the SIM card you purchase so can't be addressed specifically. Take a look at this: http://ireland.activeboard.com/t41010749/cell-phones/
