Skyrocketing Car Rental Rates

I just got a quote from Fox for a Ford Focus for $105 per week - that's awesome! In and out of Shannon for two weeks. Michele, has been happy using them and I always use them in the states. I realize no insurance is included so if I use them how best should I plan for insurance coverage.

Fox deals exclusively with Dan Dooley in Ireland so the 'Terms & Conditions' on the Dooley website will give you all the specifics.

If you are buying the Insurances you'll pay for those at the counter at the Dooley rates.

I used Dooley through Fox for MY last visit (Sept / Oct 2017) without problems.  I 'Waived' ALL insurances using my BofA World Master Card coverage.  Dooley DID ask for my 'Letter of Coverage' and specified that it needed to be dated with 28 days of the rental -- I BELIEVE he specified the END of the rental . . .

For cost and other details see:  http://ireland.activeboard.com/t64045208/bobs-2017-whirlwind-trip/

I obtained MY 'Letter' by calling Master Card directly -- 1-800-MC ASSIST and had them email it to me.

I booked a car from Dooley for Aug 20-Sept 26 2017 or so and the price was double what it was the previous year. So I am glad to read about Fox.

I always try for a Fluence, I like the car. The trunk holds three suitcases, one of which is very big, the other two are carry-on size.

Where can I find out about credit cards that are acceptable to cover CDW in Ireland?

Getting a credit card that covers Ireland for CDW is hit or miss. Some World MasterCards cover but not all. I have a Capital One Platinum Professional and a Chase Visa Freedom Signature that covers.

Chase has a number of new VISA cards that offer CDW coverage in Ireland, specifically (for sure) their Sapphire Preferred Card.  I've yet to verify if Dooley and others will accept that coverage, however.
