Are Irish People In Good Relationship With Scandinavians?

Hello,

We are all aware of Norsemen raiding Ireland territory in the past... but what's the relationship of Irish people with northern people now? Do you like them as a nation?

Also, which are the most famous sites of Vikings influence in the Ireland?

best,

Ian

As a whole, the people of Ireland are a welcoming, friendly group.  Although they may share strong Political opinions about nations, they are astute enough to separate that from the treatment of individuals from those countries.

Areas with significant Viking relics / histories include:

Dublin:         http://www.dublinia.ie/      https://www.irishtimes.com/news/science/the-vikings-beneath-modern-dublin-1.1867504

Waterford:    http://www.ireland.com/en-us/what-is-available/attractions-built-heritage/historic-ireland/articles/viking-triangle/

Wexford:      http://www.battleofclontarf.net/viking-places-to-visit-in-wexford/viking-wexford/3536     http://www.irishheritage.ie/park-history/the-vikings/

Limerick:      https://www.vikingeskibsmuseet.dk/en/professions/education/viking-knowledge/the-viking-age-geography/the-vikings-in-the-west/ireland/limerick/

                   http://www.medievalists.net/2013/01/the-sack-of-viking-limerick/

There are, of course, numerous other relics and sites scattered around the country -- The Viking 'Hog Back' Burial Slab at Castledermot, County Kilkenny: http://www.megalithicireland.com/High%20cross%20castledermot.htm

Dunmore Cave:  http://www.thejournal.ie/dunmore-cave-massacre-1609769-Aug2014/

Of course, the +/- 67 remaining Round Towers (depending upon who's numbers you believe) are NOT, as was once suggested Viking designed or built, but many of them have Viking-related histories of surviving (and sometimes, falling) due to Viking raids.
