super cdw question

Five years ago, I prepaid Dan Dooley for a 3 week rental using a debit card.  They never offered me excess insurance and there was no hold placed on my debit card. (I don't have a CC!) I am sure I added a few dings to the car, but I never got charged for any additional amount.   I have again prepaid using my debit card for a people carrier for this year... 5/26 through 6/23.  I am getting nervous hearing the recent news that Dooley isn't taking debits anymore.....if I take the super CDW, will there still be a large hold placed on my debit card?  Will they cancel my rental because I don't have a CC? Thanks in advance for the advice.

Since you already have the booking made, I would expect that Dooley will honor the reservation, but You would need to contact Dooley for a definitive answer, as they have the final word.  You can do so via either of their web sites:   https://www.dandooley.com/                 https://www.dan-dooley.ie/

call their New Jersey Office, at 1-800-331-9301, or contact them through Facebook, at  https://www.facebook.com/dooleycarrentals/

FYI --  The large 'Hold' is ONLY applied when you decline the Insurance coverages.  If CDW and 'Excess' are purchased, there is NO reason for a large Deposit.  You weren't offered 'Excess' last time, as buying it is mandatory when using a Debit Card and it was included in the price.

Dooley used to be all inclusive when taking insurance. I see that now super coverage is extra.
