Dublin- Kilkenny- Killarney

leaving Dublin on 5/21 heading to Kilkenny to tour Smithwicks brewery and then on to Killarney for two nights. Can you advise best route from Kilkenny to Killarney.? We would like to stop and see the Rock of Cashel on the way. We aren't sure if we should then take the most direct route to Killarney ( the M8) I believe or head to Kenmare and up to Killarney. I hear the sun doesn't set until 9:30 so we don't mind a long day. if we skip Kenmare then perhaps a more scenic drive from ROC to Killarney possibly.

What is the best book of maps to purchase or website to use  to get us from city to city and door to door of our bed and breakfasts?

Thank you

There are a few options:

#1:  https://goo.gl/maps/j7ECK9XBhfn      Adds Cahir, Mitchelstown (Caves) and Mallow and Kanturk (Castles)

#2:  https://goo.gl/maps/vinAt6kWCRx      Adds Cahir, Limerick and Adare.

#3:  https://goo.gl/maps/dan3JTZdRL42    Adds Cahir, Blarney and Kilcrea (Abbey and Castle)

#4:  https://goo.gl/maps/TJ5fKtnJPVk        Adds Cahir, the 'Vee' drive, Midelton (Distillery and Choctaw Memorial), Blarney and Kilcrea -- would make for a LONG day, but . . .

#5:  https://goo.gl/maps/pf4N8x4iC7P2     Adds the Medieval Walled Town of Fethard, twixt Kilkenny and Cashel.  Could be added to ANY of the routes, NOT just #4.

Sites to peruse for ideas:    http://www.irelandtravelkit.com/       http://www.megalithicireland.com/

You can search by county, or by type (Castles / Fortifications -- Early Christian / Abbeys -- Megalithic)

Thanks so much Bob,
I think we'll take the first route because after Killarney we head to Dingle, Kinsale, Ennis, the Doolin Cliff Walk then and Bunratty/ Shannon for departure.. The order was determined by a class we are taking at the Dingle cookery.
I'm really hoping to stop in Kenmare on the way to Kinsale to see Molly Gallivans. We would have stayed in Kenmare but all the bed and breakfasts were full.
