Bus to SNN Airport from Bunratty

Does anyone know which of the B&B's in Bunratty are close to the bus stop for Bus Eireann?  We want to take the bus to the airport the last morning of our trip, and don't want to walk more than a half-mile.

Fierte,

Have you checked the bus schedules? I don't think I would want to be dependent on the bus to get me to the airport on time. A taxi only costs 10-15 euro. Well worth the price on your departure day. That being said, a bus stops at Ministers Cross right in front of Bunratty Lodge and Headley Court.

As an alternative, do you recommend a place in Newmarket-on-Fergus as an overnight?  We're doing the early banquet at Bunratty, and have to return our car to the airport by 22:00, so that's why we want to stay close for the next day's flight out, but in a quiet area.

Our flight isn't until Noon, so I figured a 9am bus would get us there in sufficient time. NOF and Bunratty both show as EUR 3.30 pp bus fare.  Would probably use the bus to return to the B&B from the airport, though, then a taxi back the next morning.

Have you considered staying at the Great Southern Shannon? It is actually directly across the parking lot from the departure terminal. It is very quiet, the staff is attentive and friendly, the rooms are comfortable and the food is quite good. You could catch a taxi back and forth to Bunratty Folk park from there quite reasonably.

I looked at the Great Shannon's website.  It seems a bit expensive for what they're offering, but I guess it's location, location, location.  Found good rates at the Clare Inn near Dromoland Castle, and at the Shannon Court Hotel, though.

Fierte,

Since you will be carless for your last night I suggest you stay within walking distance of Bunratty Village and Bunratty Castle & Folk Park. The Courtyard would be a good option. The bus stops at Bunratty Village too. Maybe you can do the banquet or ceili for your last night.

Thanks, Michele.  That was my idea originally.  We're doing the banquet at 5:30, so perhaps we'll have a pint at Mac's or Nellie's afterward.  I was just concerned that there would be nothing to do in the off-season but to go back to the room and rest (that's what the plane ride home is for).

Fierte,

Besides Mac's and Durty Nelly's there is also the Creamery. You could go on a pub crawl!

Do you know much about the Bunratty Arms?  The proprietor said they don't mind running us to the bus stop, which I think is Ministers Cross.  We'd be dropping luggage at a B&B, returning the car, and then bus to B&B for night, then bus/taxi back to airport next morning.

Fierte,

Have you ever thought of keeping the car for one extra day? The cost might just be worth it so you don't have all that fooling around with buses, taxis, etc. I have not inspected Bunratty Arms so have no personal knowledge of it.
