We're heading out from Cork to do a drive of the Ring of Kerry and want to overnight, then head to Galway via the ferry at Tarbert so that we can take in the Cliffs of Moher & the Burren along the way. It looks like it would make more sense to do the Ring clockwise from Killarney, then branch off at Killorglin and head north. Do you recommend Tralee as an overnight, or should we head back into Killarney for dinner/evening?
Get a real early start because the ROK takes the better part of a whole day to drive. Plus it will take 2 hours to get to Killarney. I prefer Killarney over Tralee as a place to stay. But either one will do. Doing the ROK clockwise since you are coming from Cork makes sense.
