Cashel to Kilkenny

When driving from Cashel to Kilkenny, is it easier (faster) to take the N8 to the R693 and come into Kilkenny from the north, or to go "across country" on the R691. WComalley

WCOMALLEY,

Welcome to the forum! Most of the routes between Cashel and Kilkenny will take about the same amount of time. The R691 is more rural. It is easy to lose your way on it because signs are not so good.

If you are planning to see Cahir Castle you could take the N24 to just past Clonmel and the N76 up to Kilkenny. Or you could take the R692 through Fethard and the N76.
