Which one to visit?

Hi Michele, or anyone else,

I must first apologize for asking all kinds of questions about Dublin rather than Ireland as a whole, but this is where I'm going to be.

I want to visit a castle and have been perusing the websites for Malahide and Dalkey and am wondering what people opinions are on these sites.  Is doing both doable along with seeing all the other main sites in Dublin (Gaol, Storehouse, Trinity etc)?  Or should I just pick one?

Tulips,

No problem with asking about Dublin. After all it is part of Ireland! What I need to ask you is do you plan on doing all that in one day or do you have longer?

Michele

Michele,

I have four and a half days in Dublin.  I don't know what I can do in a day.  It's one of those dilemma's.  I want to see as much as possible, but don't want to rush through everything and not remember what I've seen.

I have been reading about Glendalough and Powerscourt and of course Malahide and Dalkey.  I know I can't possibly do all of these and see the sites in Dublin.  I'm just a bit overwhelmed I guess.  I will be going in September.

Tulips,

This site will be of great help: www.visitdublin.com With 4 1/2 days you can see what you want. You can either take a tour to Malahide or do it yourself by DART. It will probably take a half day.

For Dublin city do the hop-on hop-off bus tour. If you are into castles there is also Dublin Castle. Spend the whold day doing that.

Glendalough and Powerscourt are another day trip: http://www.buseireann.ie/site/your_journey/day_tours.asp
