I will be based in Dublin for a week Feb. 28-Mar. 6. I plan to spend a couple of days exploring Dublin, then another day taking the Newgrange tour with Mary Gibbons, and am looking for ideas and recommendations for other good tour companies/day trips from Dublin. I am not interested in renting a car. Any advice would be appreciated. I have been to Ireland before but have not spent much time in Dublin or the surrounding area, mostly I have previously explored the south and west.
Welcome to the forum! I would definitely go south to the Wicklow mountains to see Powerscourt and Glendalough. You may want to take a look at the following: www.railtours.ie
Yes, we are in the process of deciding which of these trips we'd like to do. We are leaning towards the rail trip to the Giant's Causeway, having never been to that part of Ireland. Thank you again, this is a great resource that didn't exist the last time I traveled to Ireland (or at least I didn't know about it!).
The Giant's Causeway is well worth seeing as is most of Northern Ireland. Please spread the word about my website and forum if you know of others who are planning a trip to Ireland. I have a lot of valuable tips to share!
