Favorite B&B close to SNN?

Have all our reservations made except one: our final night before we depart via Shannon. We'll be returning a rental car so we want to be close to the airport. What are some favorites? Any suggestions welcome... (We're electing not to stay at the hotel across from the airport... long story).

marc,

My two favorites (about 10-15 minute drive from the airport) are Bunratty Lodge and Headley Court. They are consistently good. Some of the others are hit or miss. Most of the B&Bs along Low Road in Bunratty are for sale with the exception of those two. Go to my "Lodgings" page for links.

we just spent three nights at Bunratty Lodge. Mary was a wonderful hostess and we very much enjoyed it. (her brown bread was quite yummy, and her fruit and yogurt could pass for a dessert here in the US!)

Thanks Michele and others: just sent Mary a confirmation. (I nearly missed that this was the first B&B my wife Colleen stayed in when she traveled with her 1st generation Irish/American parents and siblings to Ireland in 1986. She said the house was pink then! I've heard many a story about Mary's brown bread. Am looking forward to spending our farewell night there.

Thanks again.
Mark

Mark,

Bunratty Lodge was pink for a year or two. Now it is Wedgwood blue (Mary's favorite color). Be sure to check out the Wedgwood sitting room. Enjoy the brown bread and the breakfast.
