For anyone who is traveling over in September, if you find yourself down towards Co. Wexford during the time period of 7 -9 of September, you might consider making a stop in New Ross. They will be hosting an Inaugural Norman Festival to celebrate the 800th anniversary of the town. During this Festival, they will unveil and display all 15 panels of the ROS Tapestry Project, seven tapestries and eight cartoons, which depicts events around the found of New Ross in 1207. There will also be re-enactments from the Leinster Re-enactment society and the HArlech Medieval Society; Norman skills and crafts demonstrations demonstrations and free performances of Medieval music.
A friend in Wexford sent me the information on this event. I think they were trying to entice me to head over. Like I need encouragement!
