I am in need of advice for calling home to the USA from Ireland. I will need to call home everyday, just for a few minutes. I did some searching on my own and came up with a card called Swift prepaid phone card. Is there anything better? Should I buy before I leave or will the price be the same when I buy it in Ireland? Thanks for the info, EVA
If you are traveling within 60 days from July 1, then Chuck is offering a free Swift card for the first person requesting it. Check out his post. It is a good callilng card. If you are travelling in September or later you can buy one in Ireland or order in advance. Another good option is to pop into an Internet cafe where they have low-cost phone calls to anywhere in the world.
Here is the link to the Swift Card: http://www.swiftcall.ie/phonecards/epin.php Keep in mind that after the first use the time on them starts ticking and they have an expiration date.
Another option is purchasing a phone. This one might be an option especially since it can be used in many different countries: $49 Mobal Phone.
