All Weather Shoes

Michele and fellow travelers,

Any particular brands you can recommend for all weather shoes?

Merle,

I usually wear my SAS walking shoes and they are pretty good and very comfortable. Be sure to break in any shoes before your trip.

Merie,

I wear and take a pair of SAS shoes also and I have over-the-shoe protection if needed. They are plastic and light weight. I got mine from Magellan catalog.

I love my Rockport slipons. I've had dry, comfortable feet all summer.

Corey,
The Rockports must be great because you've had a lot of wet weather.

Hi, Merle:

I don't know what sort of shoe you are looking for, but I have Timberland "White Ledge" waterproof boots.  They are comfortable and give lots of support.  I would NEVER have made it to the top of Croagh Patrick without them!

I am wearing them here in WV this summer, as well, as I need the ankle support.  I sprained my ankle in Dingle and have not recovered yet!
They are all-seaon boots.

I did very well with a pair of Merrill Gortex low hiking shoes. My husband and son were both pleased with Keen waterproof hiking shoes. We hiked some, walked mostly, and occasionally got caught in the rain. We climbed Mount Errigal and got some bad weather at Slieve Leage but the shoes were no worse for the wear.

Good Luck Shopping and traveling.

Yup, it's been a wet summer here and the Rockports have held up and stayed high and dry. Whew.
