On the Aer Lingus site its calling for disruption from the 20th to the 23rd, please let it be cleared up by the 25th!!!  I had checked a week ago and the flight we are on was sold out, if the previous days flights get cancelled, wonder what it will do to a Saturday departure?

Jane,

Aer Lingus will most likely put their passengers on other airlines if there is a strike. I hope it doesn't impact your flights. Let us know what happens.

Here is an update on the Aer Lingus problem this coming week. Todays posting on the website gave us a little hope that our Saturday the 25th departure will happen. The agent at Aer Lingus Vacations assures me all will be well. Keep the Faith! Jane

Industrial Dispute Advisory
updated August 16, 2007 - 5:00 pm ET

Aer Lingus wishes to inform customers of a disruption to travel on Tuesday, August 21st and Wednesday, August 22nd due to a planned industrial action by Aer Lingus pilots in Ireland.

There will be no transatlantic flights on Tuesday, August 21st and Wednesday, August 22nd to/from Ireland.

Additionally on Thursday August 23rd there will be no transatlantic flights originating from the US to Ireland with a limited schedule from Ireland to the US. We will update the Thursday schedule for flights out of Ireland once confirmed.

Disrupted passengers who have transatlantic flight reservations for travel Tuesday, August 21st and Wednesday August 22nd who can delay their travel to the week commencing Aug 27th can change their itinerary dates for free with no charge for any fare differences incurred and no change fee applied to the booking. The change booking fee and any fare difference will be waived (where appropriate) from the "Price" page of the change process.

Click the button below to change your booking now.

Alternatively, you can contact Aer Lingus directly at 1800 474-7424 to change travel plans. As we anticipate high call volume, we regret any long on-hold time as we try and accommodate each individual passenger.

Hours of Operation:
8:00am - 8:00pm ET (Mon-Fri)
9:00am - 6:00pm ET (Sat & Sun)

Jane,

Thanks for the updates. I am glad it will not affect your flights. They do things a bit differently in Ireland with strikes. They usually only last a couple of days at a time, unlike here in the USA where they shut airlines down permanently. Let us know how it goes.
