I leave for Ireland on Friday. I have a day and a half in Dublin and then join a tour for 10 days and then have 3 more days in Dublin.
I wonder if this itinerary for Dublin is feasible?
Day 1 - I arrive at Dublin airport at 9:10am on Saturday. I want to go to Phoenix Park to see the Aras an Uachtarain which is open on Saturdays. Then I thought I would go to the National Museum - Decorative Arts. About how lond of a walk is it to Phoenix Park from St. Stephen's Green?
Day 2 - Plan to do Kilmainham Gaol and Guiness before joining the tour at 3pm
Tour ends....
Day 1 - St. Patrick's Cathedral, Dublin Castle, Chester Beatty Library and Musical Pub Crawl
Day 2 - Christchurch Cathedral, Dublinia (although not entirely sure about this), maybe St. Aoeden's Church and then Literary pub crawl.
Day 3 - (Sept 14 Culture Night) - Malahide Castle, Casino at Marino, National Museum - Archaeology (open til 9pm) and National Gallery (open till 11pm).
Any input is appreciated. By the way, the Book of Kells and Trinity College are included as part of the tour.
It is a few miles from Stephen's Green to Phoenix Park. Since you want to arrive as early as possible for the tour, I suggest you get a bus or taxi. Then you can save your energy for the rest of the day.
