Aer Lingus Problems

Hi Everyone,

Aer Lingus is continuing to have labor problems that may affect flights next week. If you are flying on them soon, please check your reservations and the airline's website: www.aerlingus.com

You can read the story at RTE: http://www.rte.ie/news/2007/1010/aerlingus.html

This is a heated topic here in Ireland...revolving around a new Aer Lingus hub based in Belfast. It sounds like a bulk of the crisis involves flights between mainland Europe and Ireland/Northern Ireland, but if there is a strike, it will affect all flights.

I would definitely follow Michele's advice and be sure you are at the front of the queue (be it on the phone or in person) if Aer Lingus needs to find alternative options for travelers.

Good luck to all. I fly back on the 21st...maybe I'll be stranded here for a while (he says with a smile on his face).

As of last night, Aer Lingus and the pilots settled their dispute, and there will be no strike. It's business as usual.

Corey,

Thanks for the update. At least when Aer Lingus has problems it only disrupts things for a few days. Not like the marathon make-or-break strikes in the States.
