Accommodations near Ennis and/or Quin?

We're planning our return to Ireland for this Spring (late-April/early-May...definite dates to be determined SOON!). I think we'll want to spend our first night somewhere between Quin and Ennis, County Clare.

Anyone have any favorites to recommend? Our non-negotiables are twin, en-suite. Strong preferences are hairdryer, TV and coffee/tea-making facilities *in* the room. (We don't watch much TV on vacation, but I got a hankering for watching the weather forecast in Irish before we fell asleep each night. smile )

Willie,

How nice that you are visiting Ireland again. Spring is my favorite season there. In Ennis I recommend the Old Ground Hotel and Temple Gate Hotel. I believe Dude has stayed at a B&B outside town and perhaps she will tell you about it when she logs in. Also check out Cahergal Farm. I don't remember if they have T&C in the rooms but you could ask.

Thanks for the speedy reply, Michele!smile  I'll check into those and have my niece (my traveling companion) check them out, too.

We've been trying to make our second trip to Ireland ever since we got home in October, 2004. biggrin We're reeeealllly looking forward to this!

Yep, here's Dude, reporting in. We stayed at Eden Hill Farmhouse http://www.bed-breakfast-ennis.com/ . It was almost 4 years ago, but I remember that it had all the amenities, and one room that we had was on the ground floor; a big plus for us elderly folks at the end of 10 days of schlepping luggage up and down stairs. Another plus, it's right off the N18 south of Ennis so very easy to get to from Shannon.
