Dublin Heuston Train station - how far out is it?

I am taking a train from Galway to the Dublin-Heuston train station.  I was wondering if anyone can tell me how far out from the city that will put us?  I am staying in Drumcondra, Dublin 9 (at Abberley House.)

Thank you!!

Loelle,

Heuston Station is in Dublin near Phoenix Park. Drumcondra is in Dublin City but north of the river and will be a few miles from the station. I suggest a taxi to your lodgings.

This is from Abberley House's website.

If arriving in Dublinby train to Connolly or Heuston take the Luas to the Abbey stop on
Abbey Street Lower, just off
O'Connell Street. From here you can take the 41, 41A, 41B or 41C buses at the bottom of Abbey StreetLower. Alternatively, you can take the 3, 11, 16 or 16A buses from O'Connell Street.

Thanks wckc....are they referring to the new underground trains in Dublin? Or are they all buses?

Thank you!

Loelle -

The Luas is Dublin's light rail tram system. You can find out more info, including times, stops and prices on their website, http://www.luas.ie/index.php

WC,

Thanks for taking the time to look at Abberley's website. That is good info for Loelle if they don't have a ton of luggage. Public transportation is generally the way to go in Dublin unless you have several people to share taxi fares or don't want to tote your bags around.
