My husband and I arrive in Ireland June 1. Right now my question is how long to drive from Killarney to Dingle? I can tell I have found a great forum. Thanks, Jill
The Via Michelin route planner ( www.viamichelin.com ) sends you via Tralee, then Camp and then Annascaul and says it is 82 kilometers (about 50 miles)and that it takes 1 hour and 10 minutes.
The AA site ( www.aaroadwatch.ie ) sends you via Kilorglin and then Annascaul and says it is 76.93 kilometers ( 47.8 miles) and that it takes 1 hour 10 minutes.
!!! LIES !!!
BUT THEY MEAN WELL.
Most locals will say that it is an hour and a half, (FOR THEM, MAYBE) -- but along the way is Inch Strand, EASILY worth at LEAST a half hour, AND some absolutely breath-taking scenery. Unless you can pass all that without stopping and/or dawdling for photo ops, I would guesstimate a MINIMUM of two hours.
Most of the time, in Ireland, it's NOT about the DISTANCE -- it's all about what is along the way.
Enjoy! You are going to see some AMAZING sites along your path.

Welcome to my forum. Bob is right. It takes longer to get anywhere in Ireland because of all the stops. If you just count driving time, Killarney to Dingle town is about 1 1/2 hours. If the weather is fine it will most likely take longer. If you take Connor Pass and go through Tralee it will take longer.
