Horseback Riding??

To all equine enthusiasts! My wife and I are soon to be in the South and West of Ireland for two weeks. We always try to sneak in a horseback ride into our vacations and don't want this trip to be an exception. Has anyone out there had any breathtaking experiences on hired horses in Ireland. This is our first trip to Ireland, and want to make the best of choices for our experience. Thanks in advance!!

jsnic,

Welcome to my forum! Horseback riding is not my thing, however I have done the Gap of Dunloe by horse. It is a spectacular valley between Ireland's highest mountains near Killarney. You could also consider riding on beaches. I believe that the various stables will only take experienced riders onto the beach.

There are a couple of options in the area of Dingle:

In Co. Cork, near Mallow:

They also have links to other counties, including a Burren ride in Co. Clare, but I BELIEVE it is aimed at / catering to resident (holiday) programs.
