My wife and I are planning a belated honeymoon to Ireland in early October (a first trip to Ireland for both of us)! We have narrowed down several aspects of this trip, but would very much appreciate some ideas as to where to stay. We both love B&Bs and would like to stay at them if we can. We also would like to be close enough (at least most nights) to villages/cities so we dont need to drive at night when we go to pubs for dinner and music.
We are staying in Ireland for 8 nights and we would like to stay in the following areas: Cork, the DinglePeninsula and Galway. We want to stay three nights at two places and two nights at the third place. Does anyone have suggestions of places to stay? We are also curious if there are any traditional castles that would be both affordable and worth staying in.
And if you happen to know some sites we should check out, feel free to add that too. After all it will be our first, but not our last, time there.
Welcome to my forum! Congratulations on your honeymoon in October. Have you looked at my Lodging page yet? I have lots of recommended places to stay there with links you can click on. Take a look at my Castle Hotel page also.
Everyone wants to stay in a castle hotel but most are very expensive. When it comes to castle hotels in Ireland you get what you pay for.
It would help to know what your arrival and departure points are.
