Putting Ireland on the Travel Wow Map

Hey all,

I've been in correspondence with Gail from www.travelwows.com, a community-building website intended to present some of the best things in the coolest places. Unfortunately, Ireland is terribly under-represented...in fact, I'm the only one who has posted any Irish Wows so far.

I thought I'd mention the site here and challenge all of you who have been to Ireland before to post your favorite experiences...especially those spots that might get overlooked by the average traveler.

The site requires a quick sign-in to post...but it's painless and it looks like Gail and company are not into email overkill.

I look forward to spotting your Travel Wows.

Thanks for the idea. I will check into it and make a few comments. There is too many WOW things to not mention. Youngka

Thanks Corey. I will have to check it out when I have more time.

How did the Irish Fest go?

Irish Fest was great...especially after last year's rain out. I tended to keep away from the main stages and stick to listening to some of the up-and-comers.

Sunday finished up with "Sweeping the Floor" at the Gaeltacht tent.

Corey, this was fun and even more fun remembering. Thanks a lot for sharing. Is there any way you can send to me at my email address: kjhoyle@juno.com I would like to share it with my friends. Thanks, youngka

Youngka, you can download by going to http://irishfireside.com/podcasts/55irishfiresidesweep.m4v (you might need to do a "save as" or right click)

Or if you subscribe to the Irish Fireside podcast with iTunes, it'll automatically download to your computer.

The download version is a little better quality because it hasn't been compressed by YouTube. I should also note that the dancers there are doing traditional Sean-Nos dancing which is a bit different from the more modern Riverdance-style.

Corey,

Thanks for the great clip. Was the guy wearing sneakers? She was tapping away and he was pretty silent but fast. Amazing how the Irish can have fun even doing chores like "sweeping the floor"! smile
