Although I do not like it, it is not that bad to look at............It looked like a black sausage patty to me. Everything else included in the Full Irish Breakfast was delicious!

Knowing what goes into them.... No way.. The old, old customs of using every part of the pig except the squeak in poor countries dies hard..

The same is made on the Scottish islands where they raise a pig each year in the old way. One day I happened to visit when these things were being made. words failed; but they are probably very...... nutritious:)

An old name for black pudding is blood pudding. 

I suppose if we are that squeamish we would not eat meat at all, at all - and the price it is here now that has happened.

Ah well!

Blessings this day; more and more rain today and a gale warning. Hot soup and brown bread weather. All home made of course...

Working now on the recipe book; we have this summer brought out  our second book. "Seasons of an Irish Hermitage." Almost 300 pages of stories and poems and reflections.
