Both my mom and I have really weak stomachs. How concerned should we be at breakfast when someone at the table next to us may be having Black & White Pudding??? My appologies if you enjoy it. I'm not a real meat fan, so the thought of it just turns my stomach. Does it look as bad as it sounds, or will I not even notice it???? Thanks. Maggie.
Although I do not like it, it is not that bad to look at............It looked like a black sausage patty to me. Everything else included in the Full Irish Breakfast was delicious!
The same is made on the Scottish islands where they raise a pig each year in the old way. One day I happened to visit when these things were being made. words failed; but they are probably very...... nutritious:)
An old name for black pudding is blood pudding.
I suppose if we are that squeamish we would not eat meat at all, at all - and the price it is here now that has happened.
Ah well!
Blessings this day; more and more rain today and a gale warning. Hot soup and brown bread weather. All home made of course...
Working now on the recipe book; we have this summer brought out our second book. "Seasons of an Irish Hermitage." Almost 300 pages of stories and poems and reflections.
Hi, Thank you all for helping me better understand the wonderful world of Irish Pudding. I've become a temporary vegetarian because of my squeemish belly (temp was 8 years). I'll be sure to ask them not to include it with my breakfast. Mom and I will have to cross our fingers that dad doesn't want to try it! I think I'll set my expectations with him before leaving. Just kidding. I wouldn't do that :)
