We are planning our trip for next May and will be flying into Shannon. We will be renting a car and will have a week to 10 days and hope to stay in two or three locations and venture out to see sights of interest in those areas. We realize we can't see it all in that amount of time. We'd really like to concentrate on seeing what we can but having time to stop and enjoy the sights. I've read the books and websites and it's all a little confusing right now. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Welcome to my forum! You have plenty of time for planning but I know that having too many facts can give you information overload.
You are wise to fly into Shannon as it is a very easy airport to arrive in. Are you also departing from Shannon?
In 10 to 14 days you can probably have multiple nights in more than two or three locations. Make a list of what you want to see and do in order of what is most important. Put a map up on your bulletin board and put push pins into each spot. When you see a cluster of things you will know that is a good spot to spend a few days.
You are wise to realize that you can't see everything. By concentrating on what is most important and leaving out the rest you will have a better trip.
