No flights between Belfast and Dublin?

Hi all,
Is it true that there are no flights between the two capitals?  If this is a fact can anyone tell me why?  Thank you.  Daffy

No, there aren't any commercial flights twixt the two, though I'm sure you could charter one.  That includes Belfast International and Belfast City (George Best) Airports.

Driving time is right at two hours and the route is served by bus and train (Enterprise Rail).

Minimum time to fly, commercially, with security and all, would probably require THREE HOURS, so it's probably hardly worth it.

Thanks, Bob, for your reply to my question.  Yes - it's probably just as fast to take a train.   daffy

Daffy,

You can fly from Dublin to Derry.

Thanks, Michele.  That's nice to know and we may indeed use that link when we visit Ireland and N.Ireland in a hectic tour in September.  daffy

I was thinking BMI flew that route recently, but I can't find it anywhere now.  How about the train? Probably quicker regardless of air options when you factor in getting through two airports in a timely fashion!

Hi Sidz,
Yes - we will certainly consider all options and will definitely rent a car at some point. We just wanted to know about air travel in case we get stuck for time.  Thanks for your repy.  daffy
