Bad Times for the Celtic Tiger

Hello Everyone,

The downturn in the econmy is impacting Ireland as well as the rest of the world. Some updates for you.

St. Clerans has closed.

Glin Castle is no longer a hotel. It can now only be rented as a fully staffed castle.

Sandhouse Hotel is in bankruptcy but still currently open.

Kinnitty Castle has been foreclosed on and is for sale. Their booking engine is still working on their website. I will let you know if the castle is still accepting guests.

When booking accommodations always ask about special offers. In these tough times there are many deals, especially when staying more than one night.

Michele

Actually, the B&B we were booked to stay 3 nights in has also closed due to the economy.

Bob,

It certainly is doom and gloom. I wonder if anyone really knows what is going on or what they are doing. One hopes so. All we can do is fasten our seat belts cause we are along for the ride...wherever it goes.
