I am taking my first trip to Ireland in two weeks. This trip was planned very last minute; I just booked my flight today! I am arriving at Shannon airport at 6:00 AM on April 10th, Good Friday. I will be meeting up with some friends in Galway later on in the evening. so I need to kill time that first day by myself. Do you have any suggestions of things to do for that one day around Shannon? I am worried a lot will be closed on Good Friday, and I am not to keen on renting a car by myself for the day because I have never driven on the left side of the road!
I would appreciate any suggestions! I know buses run from the Shannon airport to Limerick, and other areas, I just didn't know if there are any guided tours running that day, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Welcome to my forum. Without a car you are going to have a tough time. Bunratty Castle, King John's Castle and Hunt Museum are all closed on GF. The Cliffs of Moher and Aillwee Cave are open, if you can figure out how to get there. Another thing to do might be bus to Galway and visit the aquarium (open), walk along the promenade and see what is on in the city. Then meet up with your friends.
