IHELP! Dont know where to start!

Hello,
My boyfriend and I are finally going to Ireland next summer!! We will be staying for 14 days. I am looking for towns with pubs with great irish music, doesnt have to be packed full of people as my boyfriend and I are pretty laid back.

I would like to see a big city, I had dublin in mind but am mostly looking to tour the country with great views and nice green scenery!
I would love to see Enniskerry, and of course the Hill of Tara (my namewink)

Like to drive the ring of kerry, or maybe take a bus! no

Looking to maybe make 3 or 4 stops for 3 nights Making our way from Dublin to Galway.

Any ideas/suggestions for 2 young kids in love on their first trip to ireland!

Tara,

Welcome to my forum. You have plenty of time for planning so I suggest you take a spin around my website for lots of good info. Click on IrelandYes Index on the blue bar near the top of this page. A box will drop down. Click on Getting Started. Call Tourism Ireland and they will send you lots of free info. It will be very helpful for planning.

You might consider flying into Dublin and out of Shannon. It will prevent a cross-country drive near the end of your trip.

Bus tours of the Ring of Kerry go from Killarney. Or you can drive yourselves and stop as you please.

Get started on your research. Make your "must see" list and let us know how we can help you with an itinerary.

Michele

You will have a wonderful time! There are great suggestions on Michele's website, lots of stuff to see and do.

A couple places we saw good Irish music were Kilkenny (Kyteler's Inn), and Doolin (Gus O'Connor's Pub). The great views and scenery out west are stunning - Dingle, Ring of Kerry, Beara, well, really all the west coast is fantastic. We will be there in 2010 summer (is that what you mean by next summer, too?) and we are concentrating on the northwest this time. Perhaps we'll meet!
