Looking for Places to see in & around Cork

I'm looking for ideas for must see attractions while we are in Cork?

Thanks,
Debbie

While  Michele is off doing more research and Cowboy Craic and youngka are ALSO "Home", I'll TRY to help out and get the ball rolling.  biggrin  biggrin

You don't say if you mean COUNTY Cork, or the City of Cork, or what most interests you but, here goes:

Daytrips from Cork City would include Cohb (The Cathedral and the Queenstown Story, Kinsale (the Fort, the Gormet CAPITAL of Ireland), Blarney Castle and the STONE (which I find infinitely RESISTABLE), but there is also a recently refurbished Manor House, the grounds are GORGEOUS and the Woolen Mills shopping opportunities are nearly unlimited.

To the East is Midelton, a busy Market Town with a Distillery Tour that gets high marks.

In the City itself, there is the English Market, St Finbarr's Church and the Butter Market, though Cork City tends to get minmal Tourist attention, since so much lies 'Just Beyond', in hauntingly beautiful West Cork.

Give us some specifics and we will happily add more ... biggrin

O.K. -- hmm hmm

I just read and responded to your OTHER post, so realize that some of my previous posting is superfluous ...  biggrin
