I just saw a comment Bit made to someone about grabbing the HOHO (hop on hop off) bus in Dublin and that reminded me of a tip I was going to share. We were in Dublin for 3 days and bought the 25 Euro "Freedom Pass" that gave us the HOHO bus, the AirLink bus as well as any other city bus, for 72 hours. It worked great for us since that coincided nicely with our time in the city. I'm not sure that we SAVED much money, but we didn't have to worry about having exact change and we used the bus a lot more than we would have if we had been paying separately for each trip.
Since the HOHO bus stopped right across the street from our hotel (and we knew its route) we found it convenient even to go fairly short distances.
And that all brings me to the tip I wanted to share: On the HOHO (at least the ones operated by Dublin Bus) each driver has a different personality and every time I was on one I learned something new. I would advise an English-speaker to skip the Multi-Lingual ones. Those are pre-recorded (in several languages) and, dare I say, dry and boring. Even if you have to wait 10 more minutes for the next bus, to me it would be worth it for the live commentary.
One of our drivers had the whole bus singing about Molly Malone's "****les and muscles."
So funny - I just noticed the **** edit in my original post above! Don't know if that's an "automatic" thing that is programmed in, or if Michele (or other moderator) changed it.
Sorry - I sure didn't mean to offend anyone! In context, it would never have occured to me that the word (the one in the Molly Malone song that goes with "muscles") would be offensive or misconstrued. Perhaps I lack imagination.
My apologies.

How funny. I think it is set to automatically filter any obscenities.
The Molly Malone statue has been a source of controversy, but who knew the lyrics would offend the computer. What would my ****atoo think?...just testing the system :)
It is an automatic profanity filter. I have been censored myself when I typed in the name of the Irish town Kilc o c k. Let's see if the spaces fool the filter.
