Early September we are driving from Dublin to Adare. While I am sure there are wonderful people in Limerick , several people have told us, " don't stop in Limerick" or "don't go through Limerick". The map looks like the road to Adare goes right through Limerick. We don't wast to spoil our Irish Bliss by driving through somewhere we shouldn't. Any thoughts or suggestions?
Were you given a reason for not driving through Limerick? Or just "don't do it"? The only problem with driving through Limerick is during rush hour where you may get caught up in the gridlock. At those times of day you must bring your patience. It is the same in any city.
To avoid going through Limerick would require a large diversion that may take longer than rush hour in Limerick. And even though Adare is a small village they have a rush hour back up too!
We are picking up our rental car at the Dublin Airport. We checked the milage, but how is the road to Limerick, and Adare? Wondering what time we need to be Leaving Dublin to beat the afternoon rush hour in Limerick. thanks,
