Guinness 250th Anniversary

In case you haven't heard, Guinness is celebrating its 250th Anniversary this year. They've scheduled some extra events at the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin every day of the week from July 1 - Aug 30 (with more special events coming in September). You can check out the list at www.diddlyi.com/profiles/blogs/something-for-everyone-in

They've also just announced some huge prizes for the event. They're sending one Guinness drinker into orbit with Virgin Galactic... I'm not making this up. You can watch a video clip and read more at www.irishfireside.wordpress.com/2009/06/30/guinness-unveils-three-remarkable-experiences.

Corey,

Thanks for the news. Are you going to enter to blast off into orbit? Not me.  no  I like my feet firmly planted on mother earth. Besides, by the time Virgin is launching its first rocket I may be 101 years old.  Too old to even drink Guinness...if I liked it.

Great publicity though. wink

I'd consider blasting off, but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it ;)

The ad they unveiled today is much more down to earth.

Virgin Galactic, like the sound of that ....... I guess Guinness would be as good a rep as anyone. WC
