A Texas buddy on Eons.com forwarded your response and link to questions I had posted there.
Thanks for the initial help.
I've already booked our first four nights, but have a lot of open time to adjust what we do the first two days.
We land at Dublin around 6 a.m., just 12 days from now - Thursday, 14 August. Eight full days, self-drive, with hopes of a future trip to fill in the many sights we miss with this vacation. I'm debating about buying the upload Garmin map of UK, to use in our Garmin Nuvi 205W.
It'll be our first overseas tour since my tour in Germany over 30 years ago. Saw plenty of German and Roman castles, castle ruins, and palaces - famous and not so famous - Not planning on touring more than one or two homes, palaces, or castles. Haven't got any particulars in mind yet.
Two nights in Dublin, planning on walking tours around Dublin, Temple Bar, checking out a couple antique shops in Dublin and Powerscourt Mall, out to Powerscourt for the gardens, and who knows what else.
Being teetotalers, we have no interest in Bushmills, black porter beers, breweries, etc.
Saturday morning, we plan to head out early - Up to Co Armagh for the Markethill Festival. Depending on how our time goes, a bit further to Moy for their afternoon Victorian Festival. Then taking the Motorway around Belfast, to our hotel in Antrim. Since we can check in late there, with sunset after 9 P.M., we may have a tiny piece of time in Belfast.
Long driving day, heading up to the Giant's Causeway, some miles along the coast, but more on the primary highways. Over to Derry for a short break before heading to our B & B - Ardeevin on Lake Eske, Co Donegal.
From Donegal, I'd like to take in the Ulster American Museum near Omagh before touring the Belleek factory, then heading South or East for the next leg of our journey.
From there, our schedule is still open, until Friday night, back in Dublin for our early morning flight home on Saturday. But, everyone I asks insists we can't miss the Cliffs of Moher?
I've heard horror stories about the narrow roads, overlooking steep cliffs on one side or the other, and don't want to put my wife through that. This trip is to celebrate our 35th anniversary, which won't occur until October. She gets nervous with construction zones on Interstate where they have barricades and both lanes of traffic are headed the same direction.
Simple question #1 - Where do the Internation phones advertised on Ireland.Yes ship from - US? I'd like to order one, but don't want to pay for overnight air shipping.
Second question - Is it too late to order any of your books, with our departure on 11 August from home, enroute to our Houston to NJ to Dublin flight?
I've got more questions, but don't want to overload my first post.

P.S. I had a very nice and quite long conversation with a very helpful gentleman, Noel, who I reached via the Ireland tourism service - 1-800-shamrock .

Welcome to my forum. I have not posted on Eons.com so don't know what your friend sent you.
Since the Armagh Markethill Festival covers a time period of a couple of months, you might want to check what is on the day you will be going through. The contact is Betty Stewart: stewart_bettyandjim@hotmail.com There are other interesting things to see in Armagh.
The Antrim coast is one of Ireland's most beautiful drives. There is much to see and do along the way so perhaps you will not have time for Derry. However, trying to do the drive and get all the way to Donegal is going to be a very, very long day.
From Donegal you will have to go back into No. Ireland again for Belleek and UAFP. Had you considered staying somewhere other than Donegal? Because you will not have time to see anything there.
Since it is your anniversary, perhaps staying somewhere nice during the trip for two nights instead of one-night stays might be something to consider.
Do you have any ideas of what you would like to see and do on the remaining days? You will need to stay nearby Dublin Airport on your last night.
Most people feel that the Cliffs of Moher are a "must see". If you are going to be in the area, I would say see them. If not, you will have seen some spectacular scenery in No. Ireland and won't feel deprived.
The Mobal Phone ships from the USA and with standard shipping takes 2 to 5 days to reach you.
It is not too late to order my book with Pay Pal: http://www.irelandyes.com/paypal.html All orders go priority mail the day after they are received. Priority mail delivers in three days or less.
That is a start for you. I know you have other questions so get to them when you want.
I'll see about pushing back our night on Lake Eske, and add a B & B near Derry. Then we can visit Derry, the Ulster American Museum In Omagh enroute to Ardeevin in Co Donegal.
Belleek is South of Donegal on all of my maps. From there I guess we'll switch to Galway, with a couple routes to choose to reach there. Then spend the night in around Galway or Ennis.
Barratt provides tours of the Burren and Cliffs of Moher from Ennis - and I can leave the driving to someone else for a change, and do more scenery watching without having to pull over and stop.
Yes, we'll get our Holiday Inn Express at the Dublin Airport for Friday night.
We'll have to leave the Southern part of the island for that future trip.
Thanks,
Dennis

A mutual acquaintance provided my with your link, along with your note on my proposed agenda with a night and leisure day in Limerick. Your reply caused me to re-think the route and skip the night in Limerick.
The monthly Markethill Trade Days do cover several Saturdays during the Spring to Fall, but the resource I found indicates the 15th is the only Markethill Fair Day, complete with music, food, vintage vehicle parade, and butter making, soda bread making, and other demonstrations, along with traditional Irish as well as Line Dancing, roast pig on a spit, etc.
If we can get away in time, I'd like to try driving the half hour up to Moy for their annual Victorian Festival which lasts until 5 PM. That's optional according to how our day goes.
Thanks again,
Dennis

I booked Wednesday at the beautiful Kells Country Home at Newmarket-on-Fergus. Now I need to find something near Galway, as we make the drive South from Co Donegal on Tuesday morning.
Thanks for your help and assistance.
I went to your site this morning and ordered by Mobal Classic Phone. That solves at least a couple issues for this trip.
