Greetings to all on this wonderful forum. Anyone have any good info on airfare for next year? I am looking to return, this time using Dubin as a home base, as I have a connection there now - reconnected with a childhood friend after 35 years, give or take a few. What are your favorite travel search sites?
My granddaughter pulled out one of my Claddagh earrings, and it got lost, so I HAVE to go back!
Hi - How exciting to see a friend after so many years have past!
I don't know of any great deals taking place except for lower fare prices during non-peak season. In any event, I usually check out aerlingus.com to get an idea of what their prices are, and then search expedia or similar sites. Usually the prices are pretty consistent throughout and I don't know of any one site offering better deals over the other.

Hi Marie, if you find anything good on air fares, let us know. I keep checking, now and then. GOOD reason to return! We want to go back next June, but my husband, Dave, is thinking Yellowstone....I've been there, but........ Good luck on prices and nice you have friends now in Dublin. youngka

How wonderful that you are thinking of another trip to Ireland. I'm sure you will spend lots of time in Dublin this time seeing your friend.
I have not been checking yet. If you have a certain airline you want to use, I suggest you sign up for their newsletters. Then you will be informed of all sales.
I usually find www.kayak.com to be a good site to find the baseline deals. I then put the flights I'm interested in into Yapta.com, and they email me if the price changes :)

Another thing I've done in the past is sign up for email alerts with different airlines. That's how I got my scotland tickets last summer for $750 each - for June :)

Hi Marie- We have booked 3 trips all in June(06/08/09).The fare "sale" seems to start in Jan/Feb for the spring. We have flown Aer Lingus and Continental. I would check the airline website everyday until I would see a good price, then booked right away before the sale goes away.
Yup, that's when I find the deals coming through. I have seen them go down to $650 in 2006, the last time I went, for June travel. That sale came in the last week of January, and I believe it was on US Airways (though I don't like flying with them after the last couple experiences I've had with them). I've flown over with AA, as well.

I think there are some great fares right now on Aer Lingus from Boston to Dublin for the end of March. If that fits your time frame the fares may not get much better. Visit Temple Bar Hotel I may see you there. The glass is always half full. Have a great time.
