We like its location, being near the Quayside Bus Eireann stop (just past the Wood?), and close to the town centre. But we can't find any reviews. Does anyone know it?
I am not familiar with Harbour Nights but it has good reviews on TA. The Wood is a little out of town along the harbor road past Heaton's and Castlewood.
Take a look at Tower View and Emalgh Lodge. Both are very nice and quite close to town. They are my recommendations.
I will cast a nod for Emlagh Lodge, which is the best B&B I stayed at last year. Right on the water, and a close stroll to town, it was remarkable in every way. You will enjoy it should you get a reservation there.
Glad to hear you had a good stay with Maggie. Emlagh Lodge is in a lovely location, yet so close to town too. As you say, it can be tough to get a reservation there. Book now Bronx.
Agree that Maggie runs a heck of a B&B. Spotless and tremendous breakfast items that she changes each day. Just doesn't get much better than her place.
Maggie (of Emlagh lodge) will be closed while we are there, for a family First Communion. The Tower View looks great, but we since have thought to move closer in, to The Lantern Townhouse on Main St. It has good TA reviews. Does anyone know it? It is around the corner from my favorite pub, the Foxy John, and a block away from the An Conair Bar, where we had our most memorable night of music.
I will just ask, has anyone ever run into the local uilleann piper Con Durham? I think of him every day.
Sorry to hear Emlagh Lodge will be closed during your visit. I have not visited The Lantern. I have seen some sessions in Dingle with pippers but didn't get their names. I'm sure if you ask around you will find him. It is a very small town.
I met him at the Foxy John in the afternoon. A wonderful man. "Come to the An Conair tonight. I'll play Danny Boy for you, and it will make you cry." It did!
Is he a youngish gentleman, perhaps around 30, with dark messy hair? I think I've seen a video with him doing a bit on tourism around the area. He did some piping music, and I remember looking him up at the time (if it's the same guy) and is somewhat of a local legend. Could have a different guy, though.

I would say Con is about fifty now. And yes, one local told me he's a master piper, "and a man as pure as his music." I'm having trouble uploading a photo, so you could google Images for "con durham dingle".
Bob, Is there a way I can fwd that youtube site to a friend. I tried to copy it but when i try and watch it, it comes up to a different place. My friend and I were in Dingle and now I wonder why we didn't do the boat trip. I can get it from your site but not when I try and do it. It's the youtube.com/watch?v+tO0ExUSBoYA one.
