Traveling to Ireland March 20

Greetings,  I'm returning to Ireland in March albiet on a tight budget due to the steep price I had to pay Aer Lingus to fly out of and back to Orlando. I'm all for supporting the Irish economy, but $956 seems to be a bit much. Any ideas on that? Also does anyone know of any 'economical' hotels or B and B's in the downtown area or out towards Donnybrook? Florida Bruce

Bruce,

Good to hear you are heading back to Ireland. Ouch! Steep fare indeed. Bewley's Ballsbridge usually has good room rates. http://www.bewleyshotels.com/ballsbridge/special_offers/ You could also try hostels too.

Are you only staying in Dublin? How long is your trip for?

Hello Michele, I will be in Ireland for 10 days with the last 4 in Dublin. I'm looking forward to seeing the Botanical Gardens again. Previous to that I'll be in south County Limerick and County Kerry. I hope it warms up there a bit by then. What a winter they've had! I'm also glad the $ has come back against the euro somewhat. Bruce,

You will be happy to know that prices for B&Bs and guesthouses have gone down this year. They were edging up to 40-45 pps. This year I have seen drops of 5 & 10 euro pps. Some guesthouses have dropped 20 pps.
