With Greece, Spain and Portugal struggling badly, the Euro continues to decrease in value against the dollar. Today, its down to $1.33 to the Euro, its lowest level in 10 months.
If Greece's government defaults, I suspect the Euro will continue its downward trend...making it a little cheaper to travel in Ireland this summer.
Thanks for your posting. I have been keeping an eye on the euro as well as the pound since that is used in No. Ireland. Today the pound is only 10 pence more than the euro. That makes Northern Ireland an excellent deal.
I remember about 15 years ago when the Irish punt was equal with the dollar. If that happens again with either the pound or euro I'm getting a bunch for future trips.
Today the Euro has dropped to its lowest level in almost 2 years, $1.30 to 1E. GBP is down to $1.51 to 1 as well.
Summer travellers, keep your eyes on this as it could affect when you should pay for certain things like hotel rooms or if you change money early or not.
