MUST SEE! Fabulous Online Film of Skellig Michael

I wanted to share with everyone a fantastic film of Skellig Michael that was brodcast on Ireland's Irish TV station. The film is in two parts and each part is approximately 15 minutes long. So plan to watch when you have time.

Although the film is in Irish there are English sub-titles. The scenery is absolutely superb! I have watched it twice and plan to watch it again.

Part One

Part Two

Enjoy! And let me know what you think.

Stewart,

The narrator sure is nimble! Just watching him made me dizzy. I think anyone who plans on going to Skellig Michael should be required to watch the film.

The two families of people who died on the climb last year are suing Ireland: http://www.independent.ie/national-news/us-families-sue-over-skellig-deaths-2250360.html

Michele, I have no words......I'm stunned.

If only my legs worked like they used to....as my husband and I are traveling to Ireland on Aug 16, I want him to go to Skellig Michael. Have you been?

Amazing, amazing film!

Thanks Michele.

Thanks for the link, Michelle. What a facinating place. This would be a good documentary to be shown at The Skelling Experience Museum on Valentia Island, for those of us who can't make the 600 step climb.

Nancy,

I've not been to Skellig Michael. I would love to go...if only I had a head for heights. I chickened out going across Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge too. I took photos and had a good look at it as my husband crossed. I'm afriad if I did Skellig Michael I would be one of those tourists who fall off and land on their head. Then this forum would be history. It's best for me to see it on film.

Carrie,

I agree that it would be a fantastic film to show at the Skellig Experience. It just leaves you breathless.
