Killarney or Kilkenny -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I“ll be in Ireland in August to see the U2 concert and before Ķ have 3 days to be somewhare ir Ireland. I“m considering Killaney or maybe Killkenny (because it“s closer to Dublin). Can someone give me an opinion. Would it be possible to indicate some B&B in Killaney. Woul you think would be a better solution to drive from Dublin or go in trai and the rent a car in Killaney ? Thanks.

RE: Killarney or Kilkenny -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi joaodonga,
I would recommend Kilkenny because it is much closer to Dublin (about 2 hours drive). It is a wonderful small city and there is much to see and do in the area. If you stayed in Killarney you would spend too much time driving and not enough time enjoying your trip to Ireland. It makes sense to rent a car in Dublin and then drive to Kilkenny and back to Slane for the concert.
Happy travels,
Michele

RE: Killarney or Kilkenny -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi Michele,
Because I arrive to Dublin 6/21 at 16 h from a short flight (from Portugal) maybe driving time is not a problem. I“ll have until friday afternoo to be in killarney and then go back to dublin. From what I“ve found from Kilkanney it seems to be a delightfull town but I woul prefer to see the the kind of beuty in Killarney, to cycle. Can you or someone indicate some nice B&B in Killarney ?

RE: Killarney or Kilkenny
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi joaodonga,
It seems like you have your heart set on staying in Killarney. The drive from Dublin to Killarney will take you 6 hours or more (depending on traffic, road works, etc). Same for the return. This leaves you with little time to spend there. However, it's your trip and you will have to decide whether all that driving is worth it. A nice B&B in Killarney is Lohan's Lodge.

RE: Killarney or Kilkenny
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I thought the trip would take less time. In fact you“re right I would like to go to killarney because it seems to represent the Ireland I imagine, but I“ll have to rethink and accept your advise to choose killkenny. If it“s not asking to much can you indicate me a B&B in Killkenny.
