-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello again Michelle,
I have another questions for you. I will be driving from Dingle to Galway during my trip in June and was wondering what is a realistic time to expect it will take me and what route would you suggest? I'm looking for the quickest, not necessarily the most scenic, since this leg of the drive seems to be my longest. I love your new book and already have read it several times.

RE: Dingle to Galway Driving Distance
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi Diana,
Thanks very much for your gracious words about my book. I hope it makes your trip to Ireland easy! From Dingle to Galway will take about 4-5 hours, depending on things like traffic and road works. Take the R561 through Inch and Castlemaine right to the main road N23 and then N21 to Limerick. Then take the N18 to Galway. In June the sun doesn't set till around 11 pm so there is plenty of daylight for lots of sightseeing!

RE: Dingle to Galway Driving Distance
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Just thought I would jump in and add that you could also go via the Talbert Ferries (www.shannonferries.com) and see the Cliffs of Moher (on Michele's top ten list) and the Burren and it takes about the same time or just a little longer depending on the ferry timing.

RE: Dingle to Galway Driving Distance
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi Michael,
Thanks for your input. Having done both routes many, many times I'd say the route via the ferry takes more time. You must wait for the ferry and then travel on more rural roads where the going is slower than the main roads. Then there's all that sightseeing, which adds more hours. I do highly recommend the Cliffs of Moher and the Burren--if Dianna has the time. Otherwise, taking the main route will save time.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Just thought I'd add it since why pass up the sights if you haven't been there and with the late sunlight!
I agree completely! If the weather is good it is always on my "must see" list and I've seen it a zillion times. But what great scenery!! Ireland sure packs a lot into a little country.
