New Post  Newgrange worth a visit?

I don't often see this listed as a popular place to visit. We only have 7 nights. Is this area worth a day? We love historical sites more than shopping! Thanks!

Hi gogoellen,

Newgrange is definitely worth seeing if you like ancient history and archaeology. Personally I thought it was fascinating. However, it is not for those who are claustrophobic since to enter the tumulus you must traverse a narrow passageway about 60 feet long. If you will be doing the east coast of Ireland you can see Newgrange in a few hours and it can be done as a day trip from Dublin. The Hill of Tara is also in the general vicinity.

Happy travels,

Michele
