My husband and I are going to be in Ireland next month - this is our tentative itinerary - will we be exhauste?? Day 1- arrive Dublin 8am - spend day in Dublin - do hop on hop off tour, and maybe pub crawl - overnite there- thinking of Trinity Lodge - then head out of city - we are not really city people Day 2 - arrive Belfast by midday - check into hotel - thinking of Park Inn- staying for 2 nights - go to Rugby match at Ravenhill Day 3 - Husband may golf in am, then city tour of Belfast - may Black Taxi tour - Titanic Quarter Day 4 Head up to Bushmills - checkin to Bayview Hotel - for 2 nights - go to Distillery, Giant's Causeway, Rope Bridge, Dunluce Castle.... Day 6 - head out relatively early for Clifden - spend one night there- not sure where Day 7 - Husband may golf at Connemara Links in am, then head towards Doolin - try to catch sunset cruise of Cliffs and overnite in Doolin. Day 8 Try to check out Baths in Lisdoonvarna and smokehouse before heading down to Dingle, if we didn't get there day before. Checkin to Heatons for 2 nights - so some hiking, maybe horseback riding - maybe a round of golf for my husband. Day 10 - Make our way back east - to Enniskerry to checkin to Ritz for 2 nights - of spa, golf, gardens, walking, biking.... Day 12 - Make our way back to airport hotel late in the day - we will overnite there for our 10am flight.
Does anyone have any suggestions - things to skip - something we are missing - more or less time somewhere??? Nothing is set in stone.
Welcome to my forum. Since you will be in Ireland in October you should realize that the days are getting shorter and you can't fit in quite as much as you might like. Most people tend to try and do too much.
I think Clifden is too far out of the way and you should stick to a place on the main road. It is a pretty long drive. You could consider Sligo or Galway. It is tough to figure out what to delete. You are going from the far north to the very SW. Some people might cut either the north or SW and choose one over the other. It can be done but you will have a lot of driving. It all depends on your style of traveling and the pace you like to maintain.
