Vikings in the West??

We can't fit in Dublin on our trip with the children. ANy recommended sites in the West and SoWest of Viking history? The children would love it.
We will be in Kinsale, Dingle and Clare.
Thanks
Mathilda

Re: Vikings in the West??

Hi Mathilda,

There are no museums dedicated to Viking history in Ireland. Many of the larger towns in Ireland (including Limerick) have Viking origins. Some of the following sites will help:

www.wesleyjohnston.com/us...kings.html

www.ncte.ie/viking/

viking.no/e/maps/ekart-ireland.htm

www.vikinganswerlady.com/Ireland.htm

Had you thought of getting the kids interested in Celtic history instead? There are interesting re-creations at the Craggaunowen Project near Shannon. They will also love Bunratty Castle & Folk Park.

Michele
