Where to stay around Loop Head

Plan to go to Loop Head, travelling from Doolin.  Want to stay in a B&B close to there, and appears Kilkee would be the closest town of any size that might have a place to stay.  Is there a better place than Kilkee, and has anyone stayed at a place near Loop Head that they like?  It would probably just be for one night.

Thanks,

Monty

Monty,

I would recommend Hillcrest View in Kilrush:  http://www.hillcrestview.com/ I assume you are only spending one night in the area? Because the keeper's cottages at Loop Head Lighthouse are for rent. I don't know what they are like but the setting is spectacular.

There is a farmhouse B&B out in the countryside but I don't know what it is like inside: http://www.westclare.net/anvilfarm/ The outside looks well-kept.

Thanks Michele.  What would the distance be from Kilrush -- 45 minutes maybe?

I will check it out.

Monty,

Depends on the route you take. It could take an hour or more.
